The Configuration is the third application from the Utilities tab in PeakSight and probably the most extensive one as it contains 11 sections. This important panel defines and controls many critical hardware parameters, some of which are tuned only by CAMECA trained personnel such as Field Service Engineers (FSE) and Applications Engineers (AE), while others could be changed by the users themselves.
First, a general overview of the Configuration panel will be provided. Then, each section will be individually described.
When navigating in the Configuration panel, it is essential to know which parameters to adjust, and Each parameter is associated with a numerical value, a status (i.e, enabled/disabled, check box) or a (string/address). The configuration program is accessible via the ‘Utilities’ module in SX-AppBar by clicking on the ‘Configuration’ button or via the following path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Cameca SX\bin\ConfigNet.exe
By default, all these parameters transit through the Shared Directory:
C:\Cameca SX Shared\ SX100_InstrumentName_.dat
The left side of the configuration program consists of 11 tabs that offer access to advanced hardware or software settings. A quick exploration gives the user a general overview of the different available options.
The top-bar menu consists of four drop-down menus:
- File: save current configuration or recall current configuration.
- Show: access to maxi config mode to display hidden axes and cristals for maintenance (see Stage and Spectrometer tab).
- Edit: enable or disable changes in the Configuration program. Using this mode is very touchy and only accessible with a password. This password can be changed but it’s recommended to keep the default value.
- About: provides the version number and release date for the program.
Below the top-bar menu, four icons give direct access to the most used functions :
- Save: save the current configuration overwriting the previous one.
- Print: print the current configuration.
- Recall: recall previous configuration.
- Lock : enable/disable changes in the configuration program.
